About the event
Together with members of the local Haitian community, in partnership with the Waterloo Center for the Arts, we invite you to celebrate and experience the rich culture of Haiti at Waterloo’s first annual Haitian Flag Day celebration on Saturday, May 18 at 12:00 pm held at the RiverLoop Amphitheatre. Enjoy cultural entertainment and informational booths provided by community partners. Children can engage in educational activities surrounding the importance and symbolism of Haiti’s national flag provided by the Phelps Youth Pavilion. M & J Caribbean Restaurant will have traditional Haitian cuisine for purchase. Guests can also buy beer, wine, party beverages, and soft drinks on-site. This event is sponsored by Friends of the Art Center.
